International Seminar On Business Opportunities In Punjab 12-11-2015

A two day International seminar on business opportunities in Punjab held in Lahore on 6-7th Nov 2015. Investors, traders, industrialists and representatives of financial institutions from China, Turkey, Uk, UAE, Pakistan and other friendly countries participated in the seminar. As a result of seminar, prospects of investment in different sectors of the province will increase and investors would be motivated for investment in different sectors. Seminar will result in generation of economic stability and development and help in elimination of unemployment and raising living standard of the people. Investment Agreements and MOUs have signed for investment in energy, infrastructure, housing, transport, industrial zone development, mineral and mines and other sectors in the seminar. PTCL to provide modern ICT services to FIEDMC12-11-2015

IsLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has signed an agreement with the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) for provisioning of state-of-the-art Information Communication Technology (ICT) services. The agreement was signed by Muhammad Nasrullah, CBOO PTCL and Rizwan Ashraf, Director FIEDMC, during a two-day international seminar on Business Opportunities in Punjab. The seminar was hosted by the Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore. Walid Irshaid, President and CEO PTCL and Mian Muhammad Idrees, Chairman FIEDMC were also present at the occasion. Muhammad Nasrullah, CBOO PTCL while speaking at the signing ceremony said, “PTCL has successfully pioneered diverse ICT solutions which are enabling business and industry to grow further and empowering our partners and organizations to enjoy quality end-to-end ICT solutions.” Equipped with modern GPON technology, latest ICT services provided by the company shall enable FIEDMC to utilize PTCL’s high-end solutions, including triple play, smart link, I-Sentry, voice-over IP, high speed broadband, Primary Rate ISDN (PRI), Basic Rate Interface (BRI), Cloud Computing, data hosting and data management services.

EPZA negotiates 500-acre zone in M3 Industrial City of FIEDMC08-04-2014

A 500 acre free export processing zone plot in M3 Industrial City FIEDMC Faisalabad was negotiated by EPZA Chairperson, Rabiya Javeri Agha with Khawaja Asim Khurshed, Chairman Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC). Detailed talks were undertaken to finalise strategy for expediting set up of a new export processing zone in the Faisalabad vicinity. "It is a wonderful opportunity for exporters in Punjab to avail of the EPZ facilities and develop their market potential exponentially", said Ms Agha in a statement. A MoU has already been signed on February 21, 2013 between the two organisations and considerable infrastructure is already on ground. FIEDMC has already begun work on its 4415-acre industrial park. Development works include an excellent communication network of roads and railway and immediate connectivity with the M3 Motorway. CEO FIEDMC, Aamir Saleemi welcomed EPZA delegation headed by its Chairperson and comprising Ms Shahida Qaiser General Manager, Agha Sohail Asif General Manager, and gave a detailed presentation on the City's Master plan. He informed that development works include provision of electricity, gas, telecommunication, fiber optics, portable water, and sewerage lines. Consensus was reached by both organisations on the economic viability of setting up an export processing zone in the area, particularly to avail of the recent GSP plus facilities given to Pakistan. Faisalabad has already attained the prestige of being declared the topmost city in World Bank's report on Ease of doing Business in Pakistan, 2010, and this project would be an additional advantage to entrepreneurs of the region. A formal Joint venture agreement is to be framed between EPZA and FIEDMC at Karachi within the next week.

Pakistan wins GSP plus Status12-12-2013

The European Union (EU) granted Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) Plus status to Pakistan with an impressive count of 406 votes, granting Pakistani products a duty free access to the European market.The GSP Plus status will allow almost 20 per cent of Pakistani exports to enter the EU market at zero tariff and 70 per cent at preferential rates.According to the European Commission’s preliminary estimate, increased exports from Pakistan will bring an additional Euro 574 million annually as a result of reduction in tariffs on over 90 percent of all product categories exported by Pakistan to the EU. In 2012 total EU-Pakistan trade amounted to Euro 8.2 billion.

ISO 9001:2008 Certification Audit11-09-2013

FIEDMC has successfully passed the stage II audit and being recommended for issuance of ISO 9001 : 2008 certificate by the TUV Austria Audit Team. The ISO 9001:2008 certificate would reach FIEDMC within 4 weeks as it would be issued by TUV Head Office in Austria. Scanned copy of stage II audit report is attached. I personally thank and congratulate entire FIEDMC Staff for their cooperation and meeting ISO 9001:2008 compliance requirements within a short period of time enabling FIEDMC to introduce itself as the first Punjab Government Owned Company bearing the ISO Quality mark.
